Children’s Hunger Fund

A good breakfast will put a smile on any kid’s face!

One of the things I like most about ZOE is that we are always looking for other people and organizations to partner with in the fight against human trafficking.   We know that no single organization alone is enough.  We also realize that the roots of human trafficking are widespread and deep.  One of those roots is hunger.  When a family doesn’t have enough food to feed its children, and there is nowhere else to turn, there are always the traffickers.

ZOE has partnered with the Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF) for several years now to provide food for some of the hungriest children in Thailand.  ZOE serves as a hub for distributing food, clothing, and medicine throughout northern Thailand via one of CHF’s Mercy Networks.

Recently, CHF founder Dave Phillips and his wife, Lynn, led a small team to Thailand.  Their base of operations was ZOE and we had the privilege of working with Dave, Lynn and their team in preparing for a special food distribution outreach to some of our Mercy Network sites.

A little bit about CHF:  In 1991, after a face-to-face encounter with heart-wrenching poverty, Dave and Lynn started the Children’s Hunger Fund in the garage of their modest home in southern California.  In the 20 years since, CHF has distributed almost a billion dollars in food and other resources to help over ten million children in 35 U.S. states and 72 nations around the globe.  Find out more about CHF here.  And check out this seven-minute video of CHF’s visit two years ago to ZOE.  (Note that the video was taken at ZOE’s old facility.  We have since relocated to our newer, bigger campus.)

It’s a real blessing to meet folks like Dave and Lynn Phillips.  It’s an even greater blessing to be able to partner with them to feed hungry children and their families!
